1. Pick any 2 major events or programmes you participated in,
either as an observer or as one of the participants.
2. Write a newspaper report of your experiences in these 2 events.
The report is to be published in your class newsline.
It should be about 250 - 300 words long.
3. Submit these 2 newspaper reports to your English Language teacher when school re-opens. The marked reports will constitute 60 marks in total.
4. Prepare yourself to perform the role a newscaster to present any ONE of the reports
you have written. This oral presentation will constitute 40 marks.
Supplementary: Peirce Secondary School E-Portal
1. Complete a mindmap that identifies various problems faced by migrant workers in Passage B of your S.A. 2 Comprehension Paper. The mindmap document should be attached to this e-message. You are also required to do a bit of additional research from the Internet to find relevant examples and complete the mindmap.
2. Complete the e-tutorial, Verb Forms Practice: No Fries Today!, in the school portal. You must refer to the key information for help if necessary to help yourself answer this cloze passage. Note that you will be sitting for and English Language Diagnostic Test when you return to school next year. Hence, you must revise your grammar.
3. Note that these supplementary homework would be included in your CA marks as well, for your effort.

Dear students of 1E going on to 2E!
You may access your e-Holiday Assignment from Mon, 26/10. There are two parts.
Part 1 consists of 6 problems involving algebraic equations.
Part 2 consists of 18 short questions.
You may print out the two worksheets and hand in completed hard copies to your
Sec 2 Math teachers on Day 1 of Term 1, 2010.
You may also send completed soft copies to your current Math teachers by email.
Science:
Biology - Read Pages 18 to 22 of your General Science Textbook Volume 2 and print out the attached worksheets to do.

Please find the attached worksheets 1,4 & 7.
Print and complete them. Submit during the first week of January 2010.
CL & HCL:
All S1 express and higher Chinese students,
Please complete the hardcopy homework issued by your Chinese teacher and hand in
on the first day of 2010 term 1.
Geography:
Read Units 1-7 of your 2A Geography Textbook and complete pages Pg 47 to 52 of
your Workbook. Hand up your workbook when school reopens.
History:
Read Chapter 1 of your Sec 2 History Textbook.
Complete pages 1-7 of your Secondary 2 History Activity book.
D&T:
For your Year End holiday assignment, you are to complete the handphone design assignment. This will be a continuation of the ideation process that you have have learnt earlier.
Do take note that this assignment will be graded as part of your CA1 marks next year.
The following tasks must be completed before the submission date:
1. A short writeup on the selected country
2. Image Board
3. Development of ideas for handphone skin and cover base on the idea gather from the
image board.

Art:
Please download the powerpoint slides in Resource Sharing to read for instructions
to the activity.
There is a video clip which you can watch to have a better idea of how to complete the task.

NOTE that it is important for everyone to complete this assignment as it is part of the requirement in next years art programme.
Expectation:
1) Collect 10 different and interesting textures from any object or surfaces around us on A4 printing paper. DO NOT USE THE SKETCH AS THE PAPER WILL BE TOO THICK.
2) Use a pencil to rub the textures when you place the papers over the object or surfaces.
3) 1 texture on 1 piece of paper together with the picture of the object/surface.
